Fatherhood
Many people say that being a mother is not an easy task. Well, being a father is not a breeze either. The family relies on the father for security, support and strength, and for this, a father must always be strong for his family. Fatherhood is not a responsibility; it is a journey. Fathers learn things as they go along fatherhood which they can pass to their children in forms of father’s advice, discipline, and being a role model.
Building a deep relationship with the children is often a little hard for fathers to do as compared to mothers. Being at work most of the time to earn money so that he can financially support the family, the father often spends less time with his children. Therefore, he has lesser chance to get to know the personalities of his children and establish a deeper emotional bond with them. Most of the time, fathers tend to make the mistake of overdoing things in an attempt to win the love of their kids.
One of the things many fathers tend to overdo is trying to become their child’s hero. They try to do things that are usually out of their capabilities, promising things to their children just to make them happy even though it is difficult to keep them, and being overly protective.
The Truth behind Teen Magazines
Children nowadays are growing up too fast for anyone’s comfort. Many parents get a little bit scared at the thought that their child would soon start behaving like a teenager, and to a parent who has not been looking hard enough, the child’s fast change from playing dolls to applying cosmetics almost overnight can be quite a shock. Free Teen Magazines can easily be availed nowadays, to the delight of many parents especially those who spend less time with their child because they have jobs to attend to.
On the contrary to what many parents think, teen magazines do not contain just seemingly irrelevant topics such as gossips and news about teenage pop stars and models, how to attract the cutest boy in town or what color goes well with which kind of skin tone. Many teen magazines discuss important issues in the lives of teenagers which are often not discussed with the parents. As children become teenagers, they become a little more secretive every year, and little information about their interests and experiences are shared with their parents.
Since teen magazines discuss stories and situations teenagers usually experience, a teen reader who is shy to talk about infatuation, body changes, mood swings and other issues associated with puberty with his parents can learn some helpful information from reading articles written by experts and even teenagers like them.
Recovering from a Break Up
No matter how beautiful and wonderful romantic relationships can be, there are still cases that end up in a bad break up. Sometimes, even if the couple agrees to end their romantic relationship and become just good friends, their hearts are still scarred from the heartaches and pain they went through before the end of their relationship. Some people, especially young people who are not emotionally mature and strong enough to handle the pains in breaking up a relationship, end up not recovering from depression resulting to self destructive actions like not eating, eating too much, not wanting to go to work, and even committing suicide.
After experiencing a break up, may it be a mutual decision or a bad one, the first thing one should do is to cry everything that he has to cry for. Many people may tell you to stop crying and that crying will not help you get back on your feet again, but the truth is, crying can be the first good thing you can do on your path to healing your heart. Let your emotions flow; it’s okay to show that you’ve been hurt. Because feeling pain means you are the kind of person who knows how to love. Crying would make you feel better. On the other hand, crying for days, is not healthy. This would mean that you are now feeling the depression your broken heart is giving you. In this case, it is advisable to go out with friends and find other wonderful things life has to offer you.
Being in a failed relationship doesn’t mean one is a failure. Thus, it is not good to think that you are not worthy of being loved by other people. Meeting new people and going out on dates again may help you to heal.
